                The 150th Celebration Black-Tie Dinner

Friday evening, February 25th 2022, saw some
120 plus, members of the Pickwick Bicycle Club
rendezvous at Saddlers Hall in Gutter Lane, London,
for the penultimate part of the jigsaw that formed
our 150th Anniversary celebrations. An alternative
venue to that in the original plans, but an exceptional
location nonetheless, with the classically styled
Great Hall, being a perfect fit for our dinner.
         The Welcoming Committee
On arrival at the venue there was plenty of opportunity to view many of the wonderful
examples of the Livery Company’s history, with silver display cases, portraits of Past
Company Masters, stained glass windows, the musician’s gallery and of course the display in
the Saddle Room. - all of which looked to be more comfortable than those which most of us
are used to! Then it was up the staircase to be received by the Club Officers,;The
President, The Secretary, & The Captain before moving along to indulge ourselves at the
shell food stall. A collection of jellied eels, mussels, oysters, and other shell fish. Of course,
accompanied by adequate supplies of Pickwick beer. And we hadn’t even started dinner yet.
