The 2022

President’s Luncheon

Finally our long awaited ‘Ladies Invitation’ luncheon took place
in May at the usual venue of the Connaught Rooms. The layout of
the hall was different, allowing for the placement of the stage
to be used for the entertainment later in proceedings. It was a
very different affair to that which members are used to, and
the added colour from the ladies attire contributed much
ambience to the event. But what would the ladies think of us all?

At very late notice and due to military duties in
preparation for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
celebrations, our regular guests from the
Household Cavalry were unavailable to perform
their usual duties of extracting members from
the Hercules Pillars across the road, and
summoning everyone to table at the appropriate
time. However, our erstwhile Secretary and
team pulled the proverbial rabbit from the hat
and found a very professional group of
alternative musicians - The London Fanfare
Trumpeters to perform for us.
