Hunt goes a Huntin’
Our well known cycle man The Artful Dodger, from down the Thames River recently
spotted a certain trinket of interest on the old internet, that belonged to the Club. So a plan
was afoot with plenty of suggestions from Club members, and a trap was set with a first bid,
but how to stop outsiders? Playing the waiting game, our man held his nerve to the final
minutes and secured said trinket for a reasonable sum on behalf of the Club.
(Note - don’t play poker with our man!).

The medal was won in
1927by C.D.Treavett,
whose soubriquet was
George Heyling. Our
soubriquet chief informs
me, that he joined the
Club in April 1926, so he
didn’t take too long to
make a name for himself.
Joseph Smiggers also
provided me with the 1928
photograph (right) in
which our man appears
once again, second from
the right.
Well done Hunt for such a
magical find !!
