This year there were some special guests attending the luncheon, with members of the
Normandy Veterans Society Their spokesman addressed the gathering and they all took
a salute, and received a resounding ovation for their presence and past endeavours.

Our ‘Regulars in Red’ from the Chelsea Hospital escorted by Dumkins, marched their
way to the President’s table with the Joseph Atto punch bowl, and presented themselves
in the usual manner. One drawing some playful booing having announced that he was
formerly a military policeman.

Sergeant Buzfuz then called the assembly to order as he introduced the four ‘new’
members to their soubriquets. These were Brother Mordlin (Chris Saltrick-he of the
JoG to Land’s End on an Ordinary fame), Wilkins Flasher (Edward Legg- he of son of
President fame), Prince Bladud (James Tyler), and The Clergyman of Dingley (Tim
Chapman). We welcome them to the club and trust that they will help to maintain its
traditions and continuity.
