Whilst Hunt lead the ‘veterans’ along the Thames footpath, the Lycra Louts section took
to the roads of Surrey – led by Martin Guest, accompanied by wife Vanessa and directed
(from his car) by Pruffle. Some fast stretches, and a bit of climbing saw the energetic
peleton lapping up the miles in the morning sunshine. A suitable refreshment stop at
Squires Garden Centre on the A264 near West Horsley proved the downfall for one
rider – those cakes were inviting – who took to Pruffle’s Broom Wagon.

The rest of us retraced our route towards Imber Court, with Maurice Burton (yes it
was) and son Germain increasing the pace and keeping us all on the rivet. Not sure if it
was the prospect of good food or maybe they always ride that fast! Probably the latter.

Whatever, an excellent morning, good company and good food, thank you Pruffle, we’re
