shop opposite, for a minor adjustment to the crank - with a club hammer! (that’s the pedal
crank not the rider!) All very effective and so back to the pub to join the rest of the riders.
Food glorious food - oh wrong
Dickens story!
An eclecOc line up of oldies.
The machines that is!
Refreshed and repairs completed, we were once again heading into the Royal Park for the
return trip, and then via Hampton Court Palace for the now compulsory photo shot. With Mr
Watty’s expertise and the fleet of foot Mr Gunter, the latter managed to appear at both
ends of the group shot. (Have a close look) One of the guides took quite an interest in our
presence this time, unlike on a previous occasion when we were asked to ‘move on’.
Re-crossing Hampton Court Bridge with the usual dexterity of bringing the traffic to a halt
we headed back to Imbercourt. A quick change, pack up our machines and it was off to the
Casa Mia restaurant back in Hampton Hill for the traditional Pickwickian lunch along with the
lycra louts from the Surrey roads, and other dining guests who joined us, swelling our number
to over 40.
