After a splendid 3-course meal with wine, and coffee to finish, some cross-toasting from
Pruffle and myself, the prizes were then handed out for the various achievements and under-
achievements on the day. My prize deservedly going to the owner of the half B17 saddle Mr
Luffey. It was then time for farewells and we headed home about 4.30pm. Hunt
So ended another very pleasant day with thanks going once again to Pruffle & Hunt

Hunt continues……………..
The main topic of conversation over lunch was of course 2020 and the preparations for the
150th celebrations. For my part I will again be arranging the Hampton Court ride along with
Pruffle, on the 8th October 2020 (date is now confirmed), and hopefully we will get an even
bigger gathering of riders than this year’s event, for such a momentous year in our history.
I am also involved in two other Pickwick events in 2020, and so the dates for your diary are:
Sunday 10th May - The Pickwick Bicycle Club have been invited to join the grand parade at
Chestnut Sunday in Bushy Park, wearing our boaters of course, to celebrate the connection
between the Club and Hampton Court. (More details to follow, but our President has advised
that we will have our own stand with a display of vintage bicycles).
I have also offered my services to our President - Samuel Pickwick, who is arranging an
attempt for the Club to become the Guinness World Record holders for a “Penny Stack”.
This will be held in Knutsford , Cheshire during the weekend of 12/13th September. So if you
have such a machine, or know of one you can borrow for the weekend, please let us know.
Please support as many events as possible in 2020, - as a member this will be the biggest year
you will experience as part of our great Club………Thank you.

FOOTNOTE: at the December Garden Party, Mr Luffey, he of the half-saddle confirmed
that the donated replacement was now securely in place on his machine and he looks forward
to many more comfortable rides in the future.
