Revival of the

Annual Golf Day

As you are all well aware, the Annual Golf & Cycle day has been cancelled for the past two
years, due to the ….yes you know only too well why. However, Smithers has toiled once again to
ensure that it will go ahead this year.

The regulars will know, but for the benefit of new members who have joined the Club during
the interlude since 2019, there are a wide selection of Club cups & trophies to compete for.
The Harpenden course is very picturesque, although it can be difficult in places, but
remember - the day is all about friendship and a day out with friends. So come on you new
members, enjoy a bacon roll, have a day out and meet other members of the Club.

You will have noticed though, that there is no mention of the cycle ride around the
mountainous terrain of Hertfordshire. Sadly, after many years of organising this part of the
day, Mr Justice Stareleigh has hung up his bicycle clips & saddlebag, and feels it’s time for
someone new to pick up the reins and lead those who prefer two wheels to a bag of clubs. So,
IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE IN THE LOCAL AREA WILLING TO HEAD UP THE RIDE?
IF SO, THEN PLEASE LET SMITHERS KNOW ASAP
