Dumkins then set forth to do a recce on the finish area and phoned in with instructions
to get to a good viewpoint ½ km from the finish on the steep hill up to the finish line. 22
teams set off at 5min intervals and Team Sky came second to BMC by .60sec, but held
onto Froome’s yellow jersey and put time into most other rivals.

Slogged back uphill to retrieve our cars and back in a
somewhat disjointed way to Hotel Ibis. Le Bar Duclos
was closed! So we moved to another super bar some
50yds away for our final dinner, with yet again an
excellent Menu du Jour
and super wines.

Some Cyclists!

We walked back to our hotel for the night before our
departure in separate ways on the Monday morning.
Home via Le Tunnel was slow again but we all arrived
back at base safely.
