Remember the 7th June………….it’s the

Annual Golf Day, Cycle Ride & Luncheon

Last year various other events and commitments conspired to seriously deplete the
numbers for this annual event, so Smithers is hoping that 2018 will see a revival with
numbers back to their usual high level.

For the golfers, there’s always a wide selection of Club cups & trophies to compete for.
The Harpenden course is very picturesque, so even if you are not a handicapped player
(you know what I mean!) you can always enjoy the scenery if your golf isn’t up to par.

Justice Stareleigh has had his arm twisted to run the cycle ride again, as long as there
are sufficient riders. We only had four riders again last year, which doesn’t justify the
event taking place. It’s planned to make an 0930hrs departure, so that a comfortable ride
can be fulfilled during the morning and be back in time for the usual excellent lunch with
the golfers. With more riders there can be the choice of a leisurely ride to coffee &
back, or the hard man’s hilly terrain of Hertfordshire, whichever your choice, it will be an
enjoyable day out.
NOTE-if there are insufficient riders the cycle ride will not take place.

The Golf format will be the same as 2017, with a 1045hrs T-off at Harpenden Common
Golf Club, Herts, - an entry form is on the next page and this should be sent to Smithers
