15th June.....will be the Annual Golf Day,

Cycle Ride & Luncheon again

Following his personal success of last year, Smithers will once again organise his now un-
missable sporting day for everyone to enjoy. Whatever the weather, and whether you want
to play golf, ride your bike, or simply come to lunch, you can be sure of a typical convivial
Pickwickian affair. Those of you lucky enough to have friends, then bring them along. Not
sure if Smithers will let them win of course!

For the golfers, there is an array of historic Club cups & trophies (still coveted by
Pruffle) to compete for. The course is well known to the regulars, and even to those
attending for the first time there are plenty of hidden treasures and quiet leafy copses to
lose their balls on this excellent course.

Justice Stareleigh will be in charge of the cycling - whether it be the leisurely ride to
coffee, or the hard man’s hilly terrain it will be an enjoyable day out, and back in time for
the usual excellent lunch with the golfers

The format will be the same as last year; a ready supply of coffee & bacon rolls on
arrival, with a 1045hrs T-off at Harpenden Common Golf Club, Herts, - an entry form can
be found over the page in the magazine, and this should be sent to Smithers address or
