Requirements are set out in the handbook but a retired member can still attend all
functions without the need to maintain any minimum attendance. They pay no subs
but can attend the AGM. Their soubriquet is marked “retired” and is allocated to
a new member from the waiting list. If any Member wishes to discuss moving to
“retired status” please let me know.
On the subject of waiting list the members at the AGM agreed to keep the list
closed for the coming year and reconsider it next December.
I hope to see as many of you as possible during the year at the various functions.
As I write this I am looking forward to the unveiling of the Dickens Statue in the
Portsmouth Guildhall on the 7th February, a little disappointed with the lack of
attendance from the club.

New Members……..
The new members elected to join the Club at the Annual Garden Party in
December 2013 were as follows:

We are pleased to welcome them to our illustrious club and look forward to their
contribution in maintaining the ‘style’ we all enjoy, and supporting Club activities
beyond the Connaught Hotel. Perhaps our new members would like to write to the
editor and tell us a little bit about them, and why they wanted to join.
