In this Bi-Centenary year it does seem appropriate to show how the nation honoured the
Great Man with a set of 4 stamps in 1970, to commemorate the centenary of his death.
Depicted are: Mr.Pickwick and Sam; Mr.and Mrs.Mickawber; David Copperfield and
Betsy Trotwood and, ‘Oliver asking for more.’
They formed part of a set of five literary anniversary stamps, the fifith for the birthday of
William Wordsworth.
